Nina Boberg-Fazlic
Nina Boberg-Fazlic is currently Professor of Economics (Acting Chair) at the University of Mannheim, Research Affiliate at the Centre for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), and co-editor of Historical Methods: A Journal of Quantitative and Interdisciplinary History.
Her research is empirical and draws on large historical databases, including population and industrial censuses, emigration lists, and newly digitized data. Using historical examples and episodes, she studies how demographic factors influence economic behavior and outcomes, including labor market outcomes, health, and social mobility. Nina also works in political economy, with a particular interest in the economic and institutional determinants of collective action and political movements, including the rise of nationalism and the development of labor organizations.
Her research has been published in general interest journals such as the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics and the Economic Journal, as well as in leading field journals such as the Journal of Development Economics and Explorations in Economic History.
